Phoenix Agribiz publishes practical farming and agribusiness guidance for readers who need to make real decisions on the farm. Our job is to do the research carefully, separate evidence from experience, and explain the useful part in plain language.
What guides our editorial work
We aim to publish information that is useful, traceable and honest about its limits. We do not use confidence to cover uncertainty.
- We start with the farmer’s question, problem or decision.
- We prefer clear language over academic or scientific jargon.
- We distinguish research, official guidance and documented field experience instead of presenting them as the same kind of evidence.
- We update or correct material when better evidence becomes available.
How we research
For technical claims, we use the strongest relevant sources we can reasonably access. Depending on the subject, these may include official Nigerian authorities, agricultural institutions, recognised international organisations, breeder or manufacturer technical guidance, peer-reviewed research and other credible primary sources.
For topics that depend heavily on Nigerian conditions, we look for Nigerian evidence first where it exists. Climate, production system, ingredient quality, water, genetics, market conditions and farm management can all affect whether guidance from another country applies directly.
How we use field experience
Farm and practitioner experience can be valuable, especially when published research does not capture every real-world condition. Where Phoenix Agribiz uses original experience from a named farmer, consultant or specialist, we treat it as documented field experience, not automatically as scientific proof or official guidance.
If field observations and published guidance appear to disagree, we investigate the context rather than automatically discarding one side.
Numbers, feed formulas and performance claims
Farm results are affected by many variables. We therefore avoid presenting one farm result, one trial, one ingredient value or one breeder target as a guarantee for every farm.
Feed formulas, inclusion rates, performance targets and other numerical recommendations are checked against the relevant source basis before publication. Where a value depends on a specific product label, ingredient quality or production system, that limitation should be stated.
Animal health information
Animal-health content is educational. We aim to use credible veterinary or institutional sources and to distinguish general warning signs from a confirmed diagnosis. Where a problem may require diagnosis, testing or professional treatment, readers should involve a qualified veterinarian or appropriate laboratory rather than rely on an article alone.
Links and sources
We place important evidence links close to the claims they support. Internal links are used to take the reader to the next useful guide or calculator, not simply to increase page views.
Corrections
If we discover a material factual error, misleading statement, broken calculation or outdated claim, we aim to correct it promptly. Significant corrections may also require related pages to be checked so the same error does not remain elsewhere on the site.
If you believe something is wrong, email info@phoenixagribiz.com.ng with the page URL and the point you believe needs correction.
Sponsored content, advertising and commercial relationships
Advertising, sponsorship or a commercial relationship does not give a sponsor control over Phoenix Agribiz editorial conclusions.
If content is sponsored, paid for, supplied by a commercial partner or contains an affiliate/referral relationship, we aim to disclose that relationship clearly to readers. Sponsors may support the cost of producing content, but they should not be able to change research findings, hide material limitations or require a favourable conclusion.
Authorship and contributors
Articles should use the correct author or contributor identity. Editorial upgrading does not automatically transfer authorship. When a named contributor provides original material, we aim to identify that contributor and preserve the context of the contribution.
Our simple rule
We do the research. Farmers get the benefit.
